High school diploma issued after at least 12 years of documented studies. If the country where the qualification has been obtained requires a test for the academic suitability, you must also present the successful examination (E.g. YKS in Turkey, Selectividad in Spain, Prova de Aferiçao o Prova Geral de Acesso ao Ensino Superior in Portugal, etc.). Requisitos de idioma

italiano Non-eu students residing abroad who would like to enroll in a study course completely taught in Italian, have to prove their knowledge of the language through an Italian language test. The test will be organized by the CLA (University Language Centre), only after pre-enrollment on the Universitaly portal. For further information, please refer to the following page The following categories are excluded from this obligation: 1. students who intend to enroll in degree courses in English; 2. students in possession of an Italian language certification of level B2 or higher (such as CILS, CELI, Roma3 or PLIDA).

Otros requisitos

Given the extensive practical laboratory and restoration work that characterizes it, the degree course provides for a limited number of admissions, with a total number for each path (PF) equal to 5 students. The entrance test, according to the indications of DM 87/09, is divided into two practical aptitude tests. Candidates, after indicating the chosen training path, must take the following tests: i) Perceptual physical aptitude test aimed at verifying the candidate’s perceptual ability in relation to a series of color ranges. ii) Graphic or manual aptitude test, aimed at evaluating: a) the natural inclination to proceed with method, order, precision; b) the aptitude to operate a critical synthesis of the proposed artifact (painting, object in relief or in the round) by means of an essential, clear and appropriately modulated stroke aimed at restoring the volumetric definition, the proportions and the particular executive technique under examination; c) their manual aptitude. Passing, in order, the tests at points i) and ii), will allow admission to the third test: oral exam, aimed at: i) verify the direct knowledge of the works and the ability to relate the historical-artistic data and the technical data (the general thematic lines will be indicated from time to time in the admission announcement); ii) verify basic knowledge of the sciences of nature (chemistry, biology, earth sciences, physics) and the English language.

Resumen

The Master’s Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage trains graduates in two profiles: stone materials and decorated architectural surfaces (PF1), and ceramic, glass, metal, and alloy artifacts (PF4). Graduates must possess historical, artistic, scientific, and technical knowledge to critically evaluate the conservation state of cultural assets, designing targeted diagnostic protocols. They need advanced scientific understanding of materials, their properties, structure, degradation, and interaction with the environment. Graduates must be skilled in treating materials and their environment to prevent degradation, considering the artwork’s cultural value. They should direct the design and implementation of conservation/restoration projects using modern, minimally invasive methods, coordinating interdisciplinary expertise. Finally, they require in-depth knowledge of cutting-edge techniques for preventing damage and for conserving and restoring cultural heritage.

Oportunidades profesionales

The Master’s Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage prepares graduates to work as restoration technicians with decision-making autonomy within their technical expertise on direct and indirect actions to limit the degradation of cultural assets and ensure their conservation.
The course prepares for the profession of:
Museum curators and conservators – (2.5.4.5.3)
Restorers of cultural heritage – (2.5.5.1.5)
Furthermore, the Master’s Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage (PF1 and PF4) trains professionals capable of holding control and management responsibilities in the conservation of stone and archaeological heritage. Graduates have the tools to carry out research and work in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage with full management autonomy in:
Restoration laboratories and companies;
Institutions of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage responsible for the protection of cultural assets (superintendencies, museums, etc.);
Companies and professional organizations in the sector;
Public and private research institutions and bodies operating in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
