In the health profession of neurophysiopathology technician, graduates are health professionals responsible for the tasks provided for in the Ministerial Decree of the Ministry of Health of March 15, 1995, No. 183 and subsequent amendments and additions, i.e. they carry out their activity in the diagnosis of pathologies of the central and peripheral nervous system by directly applying specific diagnostic methods in the neurological and neurosurgical field on medical orders
(electroencephalography, electroneuromyography, polygraphy, stimulus- and event-related evoked potentials, ultrasound).
Graduates in neurophysiopathological diagnostic techniques apply the most appropriate methods for recording bioelectrical phenomena, intervening directly on the patient and on the equipment to establish a diagnostic-instrumental work program or a neurophysiological examination prepared in close collaboration with the specialist; manage the work of collecting and optimizing the various diagnostic methods, on which they must draw up a descriptive report from a technical point of view on request; they are directly responsible for the application and final result of the diagnostic method used; they use instrumental diagnostic methods to evaluate electrocerebral activity for clinical and/or medico-legal purposes;
they ensure the preparation and control of the instrumentation of the equipment supplied;
they carry out their activities in public and private healthcare institutions, as employees or as freelancers.
