Other requirements | Knowledge of the English language, at least equal to B1 level (Council Europe Level or equivalent). Free access upon fulfillment of specific requirements. Graduates in bachelor like L-2, Biotechnology and L-26 Food Science, are admitted to the CdLM. For graduates in other bachelors, is mandatory the possession of knowledge and skills in: Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Plant pathology, Food science, Genetics and Plant genetics, Molecular biology and others. |

Overview
The Master’s Degree Course in Biotechnology for Food Quality and Safety has the main objective of training graduates capable of critically applying the scientific method of investigation, based on the disciplines of the biotechnological field. The final goal is to acquire knowledge into the biotechnological applications and innovations about the food safety and quality.

Director of public and private laboratories;
Researcher and analyst:
- in companies that produce microorganisms to be used as starters for the food and vegetable industry;
- in food certification centers;
- in Observatories and public/private agencies for hygienic-sanitary control with biotechnological methods;
- in the food industry as quality and biosafety experts or as researchers/analysts;
- in the seed and plant industry, to support in relation for determining the identity of new varieties and in the phytosanitary certification of plant propagation material as required by current legislation.
