Entry qualification

High school diploma issued after at least 12 years of documented studies. If the country where the qualification has been obtained requires a test for the academic suitability, you must also present the successful examination (E.g. YKS in Turkey, Selectividad in Spain, Prova de Aferiçao o Prova Geral de Acesso ao Ensino Superior in Portugal, etc.). If the qualification was obtained at the end of a school period of less than 12 years, we invite you to consult Ministerial Provisions for the access of international students with the relevant Attachment 1. Open access course. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Italian. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.

Language requirements

Italian Non-eu students residing abroad who would like to enroll in a study course completely taught in Italian, have to prove their knowledge of the language through an Italian language test. The test will be organized by the CLA (University Language Centre), only after pre-registration on the Universitaly portal. To find out how to register consult the website at this page The following categories are excluded from this obligation: 1. students who intend to enroll in degree courses in English; 2. students in possession of an Italian language certification of level B2 or higher (such as CILS, CELI, Roma3 or PLIDA).

Other requirements

To be admitted to the Degree Course, one must possess a secondary school diploma or other qualification obtained abroad and recognized as suitable. To be admitted to the Course, the student must be able to read and understand a written text, must have mastery of the Italian language, and must possess the spatial and temporal coordinates to orient themselves in the different contexts of study. The Course organizes a test to ascertain essential knowledge: 40/50 multiple choice questions. The questions cover the basic knowledge required for access, related to the linguistic structures of Italian, text comprehension, and knowledge of the main historical and literary events, with references to the current context. Those who fail the test must compulsorily attend remedial activities in the first year to fill the gaps that have emerged. Students from secondary schools in which Latin is not taught must attend a Latin Language Laboratory in the first year of the course, preparatory to the teaching of Latin Literature scheduled for the second year.

Overview

The three-year course aims to train figures capable of working at the first level of cultural mediation in the management, communication and enhancement of cultural heritage, a need increasingly felt in our country. Graduates will be able to enter the State Administration, local authorities and specific institutions, such as, for example, museums, libraries, archives, film libraries, natural and archaeological parks. The professional profile is also valid and expendable in companies operating in the field of environmental protection and restoration, as well as tourist enjoyment of cultural heritage.
The training course, divided into three curricula (Archaeological Heritage, Archival and Library Heritage, and Historical-Artistic Heritage), provides a group of basic and characterizing disciplines that allow the correlation of cultural heritage to the historical and territorial contexts of reference. Basic knowledge is complemented by knowledge of the most up-to-date techniques and methods of investigation and conservation of cultural heritage.

Career opportunities

Library Technician: works in institutions responsible for the preservation and enjoyment of ancient and modern libraries and sometimes documentary heritage.

Museum Technician: Takes care of user relations, public information in the auditorium, and the conduct of educational initiatives. Provides, including in a foreign language, information about the museum, gallery, archive, or library being visited, the goods stored there, and the services offered.
