Overview
The Degree Course in Environmental Sciences (L-32) is characterized by strong interdisciplinarity focused on providing solid basic knowledge in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The abiotic and biotic components, constituting the fundamental dimensions of natural or anthropized ecosystems, are analyzed through an educational pathway structured around the disciplines of chemistry, naturalistic sciences, biology, earth sciences, ecology and other context disciplines, all oriented towards the reading of the environment and aimed at understanding the human-environment relationship.
Almost all courses include laboratory exercises and/or field activities, since the Taranto area offers unique scenarios of biological and geological diversity, in which environmental matrices can be studied in a good state of conservation, and sites that also emerge as characterized by environmental criticalities.
