Overview
The Materials Science and Technology course provides skills to: correlate material characteristics to chemical and physical properties; design molecular structures and apply new materials, including nanomaterials, for advanced applications in various fields. It includes the study of devices for industrial applications in microelectronics, optoelectronics, bioelectronics, photonics, biomedical applications, food and pharmaceutical packaging, nanomaterials, biopolymers, materials interfaced with biological systems, synthesis, manufacturing techniques, and characterization methods. The course prepares physicists, chemists, researchers, and graduates in physical and chemical sciences. It has a strong international focus, thanks to collaboration with a consortium of European universities in the Erasmus Mundus program (Bioref) and other agreements.
