Overview

The course is open-access. Those in possession of a degree obtained in the class of the computer science degrees (class 26 or class L-31) and in the class of information engineering degrees (class 9 or L-08), as well as those in possession of another degree obtained in Italy or abroad and recognised as suitable by the course of study, may apply directly to the Master’s degree course in Cyber Security.
It is however a condition for admission to the master degree course to have obtained at least:
- 18 total ECTS in one or more of the scientific-disciplinary sectors MAT/01, MAT/02, MAT/03, MAT/05, MAT/06, MAT/07, MAT/08, MAT/09, FIS/01, FIS/02, FIS/03, FIS/07;
- 48 total ECTS in one or more of the scientific-disciplinary sectors INF/01, ING-INF/05, ING-INF/03;
- knowledge of the English language at B1 level.
Students with these curricular requirements will be eligible for a personal assessment, which is compulsory and will take the form of an oral interview and/or a written test.
Passing the test of the adequate preparation is mandatory in order to complete the enrolment in the master course.

Career opportunities

The Master Degree Course aims to provide future graduates with specific knowledge and skills in the field of Information Security. More precisely, the course of study is aimed at training professionals who have theoretical, methodological, experimental and applicative knowledge and skills that enable them to carry out activities in the fields of design, development, testing as well as research, coordination and management with regard to complex IT systems where the issue of security and protection from different points of view is fundamental: infrastructural, organisational, technological, applicational and regulatory.
The Cyber Security graduate must not only be able to develop and manage complex secure information systems, but also be familiar with the legal aspects governing the processing of computer data, and the recording and transferring of sensitive data. The graduate will also acquire knowledge and skills that will enable him/her to cover managerial positions in enterprises, service companies and institutions.
