Overview
The Bachelor Degree in Computer Science aims at training experts able to build solutions, by using the available computer technology, to solve social problems. The subject contents provided in the Computer Science degree course range from the theoretical foundations of programming languages and algorithmics, computability and complexity, to methods for intelligent retrieval of information, engineering of knowledge-based systems and, finally, techniques for the development of effective interfaces and systems in advanced application areas, such as automatic document processing, game development, etc. Technical knowledge focuses on topical issues required by the job market: Algorithms and Data Structures, Databases, Software Engineering, Computer Networks and Programming Languages.

Career opportunities
Graduates in Computer Science are professionals with a specific technical background and high computer science skills.
They may:
- design, produce and distribute IT products and services;
- develop intelligent and networked systems for various applications such as networked business operational support, office automation, web systems, e-commerce, e-government, e-health;
- offer corporate and institutional training;
- offer specialised consulting to enterprises and public bodies.
Examples of professionals from the Federcomin’s Annual Report are: database administrator, network consultant and designer, web developer, expert in customisation and pre-sales of IT solutions, network/web administrator, software analyst, designer and developer, support and technical assistance consultant.
They may enroll in the Register of Engineers (Information Sector – section B) by passing a State examination as established by the Article 48 of Presidential Decree No. 328 of the 5th of June 2001.
