Overview

The Master’s Degree Course in Cellular and Molecular Biology (BCM) aims to
provide graduates with an in-depth and integrated knowledge of biological
systems at the cellular and molecular level. For the specific objectives,
the course is divided into two curricula “molecular” and “neurobiological”.
Particular attention is paid to modern study methodologies, in vivo, in
vitro and in silico, relating to the molecular mechanisms that regulate the
functionality of various cellular systems (animal, plant, microorganisms).
The course allows you to acquire a high level of mastery of the scientific
method as well as the tools necessary for operational autonomy and for a
good communication of scientific information to a wide audience of users.

Career opportunities

The Degree Course in Cellular and Molecular Biology (CMB) gives access to
level III training, organized in research doctorates, specialization courses and masters.

The graduates in CMB will be able to enroll (passing the State Exam) in the Professional Register of Biologists – section A -, for carrying out codified activities (ISTAT coding).

• Biologists and similar professions – (2.3.1.1.1)

• Researchers and technicians graduated in biological sciences – (2.6.2.2.1)

The graduates have career opportunities in various contexts including:
- Universities and other training and research institutions, Italian or foreign, public or private.
- Research, monitoring or service laboratories, public or private.
- Companies operating in the development and valorization of products of biological interest.
- Public or private hospitals and diagnostic laboratories.
- Scientific dissemination institutions.
The graduates in CMB will also be able to participate in the training courses for teaching in secondary schools (2.6.3.3.2), according to current legislation.
